Deadwood: A Bluelight Shindig

A chapter from “The Deadwood Murders”, a script we’re working on. INTRODUCTION TEXT: A local girl named Cindi Bluelight was found dead on the outskirts of Firefly Forest. Her body was viciously mutilated much like the victims of a serial kill named Hugo Zackenbush who was cleared of his last spree on a technicality a few years earlier. After a few weeks, the police gave up on the case finding no clues as to who did it or how she died. Zackenbush was still suspected but had no provable links to the murder. In frustration, Cindi’s brother Zachary Bluelight rushed into the forest with his father’s gun with intentions of avenging his sister, and thats where our story begins. Finale Text: Zachary Bluelight was found the next morning by the local police on the edge of Firefly Forest, not far from the crime scene of his sister’s murder. Although Hugo Zackenbush was again suspected there was still no proof linking him to either victims, and just like the first set of Deadwood Murders years earlier, he went free without being convicted. Zackenbush left town shortly aftwards and hasn’t been seen in over 20 years. As for The Bluelights, Cindi and Zachary were buried together after a beautiful ceremony. Zachary’s friends known as the Deadwood Five have since investigated the death’s themselves, and after numerous dissapearnaces only one of the five is known to be alive and well, Bobby Lyle. Lyle was suspected in the dissapearances of his four friends: Ammorian Haig, Robert Straiker …
